This encaustic photograph begins with a collaged base and several layers of encaustic paint manipulated to build up texture. A tissue paper photograph of a bare tree taken by myself is embedded into the wax and the addition of oil sticks, pastel and the addition of mica flakes, this painting invites the viewer to look closer and to touch and feel the surface.

Size: 12” x 16”

On Cradled Panel - 1.5” deep sides are painted and waxed to finish. Wired for hanging. Currently at Naess Gallery at The Paint Spot until December 31, 2023.
